ELMIRA BULLDOGS STAR POWER FORWARD GIVES COMMITMENT FOR 2009 TRAINING CAMP !!!!

brandon_2_jpg.jpg

Brandon Lawley, the 6'7" star power forward from the 2008 Elmira Bulldogs was the first player to recieve a 2009 Elmira Bulldogs training camp invitation and the first player to give a %100 commitment to attend.  Brandon Lawley, a late addition to the team in 2008, recorded back to back 14 point, 14 rebound games in the playoff's for the Bulldogs.  Lawley was one of the few bright spots for Elmira in the 2008 NPBL Championship game when the Bulldogs winner's of 11 straight games were upset by the Delaware Destroyers in front of a record setting crowd of 700 fans at the Chemung County YMCA in Elmira, NY. Brandon is a former star player from NCAA D-2, Mansfield University.  According to Bulldogs head coach James R. Schutz, "2008 Regular Season and Nothern Division Champions is nice, but the bottom line is that we did not complete the task.  It is my responsibility to make sure we have a team that will get back to the title game in 2009 and finish the job.  Brandon Lawley will likley be key piece to a title run in 2009."

The defending Regular Season and North Division NPBL Champion Elmira Bulldogs will hold a 20 player invitation only training camp this winter.  From the 20 player's invited 12 will be selected to make up the 2009 Elmira Bulldogs roster when the 2009 NPBL season kicks off.  Head coach James R. Schutz will be responsible for selecting the 20 player's who will recieve invitations to training camp with some help in the process coming from assistant coaches Roger Hover and Dennis Lee.  The coaching staff encourages any player intersted in being one of the twenty player's invited to training camp to send a complete resume with references to Bulldogs head coach, James R. Schutz by e-mailing This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , all resumes sent in will be looked at.
